William Hendershot

At his home in Vaudreuil-sur-le-lac, on April 21, 2021, William Hendershot succumbed to aggressive cancer that struck him down for the past year. His spouse, Hélène Lalande and his son, Félix were at his side to accompany him.
He is also survived by his sister Mary (Harry Miller), his nieces and nephews Janet Kendall-Wheeler and Peter Kendall, Sarah Miller and Catherine Miller-Mort as well as their children and his favorite sisters-in-law, Sylvie and Marie-Claude Lalande. .
A retired McGill professor, he leaves behind several generations of graduate students who have made him so proud.
William was passionate about sailing racing (CDVM). His many friends on the regatta circuit will sail for him.
The family would like to sincerely thank the palliative home care team of Dr. Annick Terret-Hans (Valérie, Philippe and many others) for the extraordinary dedication with which they supported William and respected his wishes.
Under the circumstances, the family prefers to postpone the celebration of William's life to a more appropriate time.
